Call MCM owners, Guy Malul and Dorit Cohen and tell them to fix the elevators and relocate Mr Wallace to a first floor apartment
!!script is below!!
A home should be a healthy, safe and peaceful place to relax. It should bolster our healing and contribute to a healthy lifestyle.
But when absentee landlords are more interested in making money by allowing apartments to degrade, renters’ health suffer. The owners of MCM Management Solution have four buildings with broken elevators. This means that elderly tenants, disabled tenants, and tenants with underlying health conditions who live on the second, third or fourth floors risk injuring themselves to get to their homes.
One such tenant, Wallace Herrington, who resides on the fourth floor of 5220 Wayne Avenue, has underlying health conditions and uses a cane to walk. Wallace is only able to leave his apartment once a day because climbing the flights of stairs to the fourth floor leaves him out of breath and compromises his health. Wallace was hospitalized for several days after falling down the stairs. Forced to stay home so often, Wallace faces social isolation. Unable to climb the stairs with groceries, Wallace must pay for a delivery service. Because the laundry machines in the basement are not fully functioning, he has to do laundry outside the building, which further burdens his health. Wallace has made multiple requests to the MCM Management office that he be relocated to the first floor. He has yet to be moved.
Wallace’s case is not unique in the buildings owned by MCM. Join us in demanding that MCM move Wallace to a first floor apartment and that they repair the elevators in all MCM Management Solution buildings. We are calling on MCM Management to be part of the solution by taking into consideration the lives and well-being of their tenants.
